A Reiki Treatment
During a Reiki treatment the client remains fully clothed, as Reiki passes through clothing and even plaster casts. The client usually lies on a treatment couch, futon or sits in a chair if they find lying down uncomfortable.
The Reiki practitioner places their hands gently, in a series of non-intrusive positions covering the client’s body. Each hand position is held for several minutes. The whole person is treated, not just isolated areas.
It is best to choose loose-fitting garments to wear on the day of your appointment. Wearing natural fabrics is best (cotton, wool, or linen). You may also be asked to remove any jewelry (rings, bracelets, pendants, etc.) prior to the session, so consider leaving these items at home.
Reiki does not involve massage or manipulation. It involves a gentle healing touch.
Treatments are usually one hour, but can be extended to one and half hour depending on the client’s needs.
Four consecutive Reiki Treatments
If you have a chronic condition, something that has been building up over a long period of time, it often needs more than one treatment. Having treatments every day over four consecutive days can be a very powerful way of receiving Reiki healing, as the energy is able to move deeper and deeper each day, often having quite profound healing results. The first treatment tends to be a really relaxing and transforming experience in its own right. On day two and three some really deep healing often starts to unfold and then day four can feel like a completing of the cycle.
It is advisable to make space in your life when receiving four consecutive Reiki treatments and not have many other plans during these fours days in order to optimize the benefits from these treatments.
